Daily schedule
Our daily schedule balances guided group activities with independent play, giving children structured learning while encouraging curiosity, creativity, and self-expression.
Morning circle:
9:00 a.m.
We start the day greeting friends, reciting the pledge, reviewing the calendar and weather, introducing new letters and numbers, and sharing the day’s activities. This builds routine, engagement, and a sense of community in the classroom.
Child choice time:
Children explore a variety of developmentally appropriate activities that encourage creativity, learning, and social skills. Teachers facilitate learning while allowing children to make independent choices, fostering curiosity, confidence, and hands-on problem-solving skills in a fun, supportive environment.
Clean up time
Children work together to tidy the classroom, organize materials, and develop responsibility. This collaborative time teaches teamwork, organization, and respect for shared spaces, while reinforcing routines that help children feel secure and confident in their environment.
Story time:
The teacher reads engaging stories connected to the curriculum, promoting literacy, listening skills, and imagination. Children learn to focus, comprehend, and discuss ideas while enjoying stories that inspire curiosity, creativity, and a lifelong love of reading.
Snack time:
Children wash hands, serve themselves, and enjoy a healthy, peanut-free snack. Options include Goldfish, Cheez-its, Ritz, pretzels, or graham crackers. This routine encourages independence, social interaction, and good nutrition, while building self-care and cooperative skills.
Quiet time:
Children enjoy a short rest while listening to calming music. This period allows them to recharge, develop self-regulation skills, and transition smoothly into afternoon activities, ensuring they stay refreshed, focused, and ready for continued learning.
Morning circle:
Children gather for group discussions, show and tell, music, movement, and games. This time strengthens communication, listening, and social skills while fostering confidence, teamwork, and a sense of belonging within the classroom community.
Physical activity:
Active play occurs outdoors or indoors during poor weather. Children engage in gross motor activities, sports, and games that support physical development, teamwork, coordination, and healthy habits, encouraging energy release and joyful, purposeful movement throughout the day.
Goodbye:
Children gather personal items, receive handouts, and prepare for dismissal. This closing routine helps children practice responsibility, reflection, and independence while ensuring a calm, organized, and smooth transition from school to home.
Optional lunch bunch
Offered on select days for an additional fee, children bring a peanut-free lunch and participate in supervised social and learning activities. This extension encourages independence, table manners, and social interaction in a safe, structured environment.
